With spring just around the corner, it’s time to clean up our everyday driving skills! With March’s community challenge Snack Run themed around the every day snack and food runs, drivers will hone their skills to handle parking lots and drive thrus while being mindful and distraction-free drivers.
By focusing on different skills throughout the month, drivers receive weekly skill training that reflects the monthly theme. The skills this month include phone usage, handling, focus, and cornering, which all relate back to Snack Run. Parking lots can be overwhelming, so we encourage our drivers to practice how they handle their vehicle while in the parking lot, as well as how they take their corners. Drive thrus can also be a tempting place to pick up your phone and get distracted as a driver, so phone usage and focus skills are assessed. Each skill gives drivers perspective into how they’re driving, providing the self-reflection needed to become a more mindful driver.
Even practiced drivers need to hone their skills! From fleet drivers to high school students, everyone needs a safe driving reminder once in a while. By tying important skills to everyday tasks (like snacking) in a fun, gamified way, drivers will continue to engage with safe driving throughout the year!
With pins, badges, prizes, rewards, community themes and challenges, there’s always a way to make safe driving relevant to any theme or cause. Whether it’s an organization, company, or community, you can create a Safe Roads Challenge of your own!
