108,018 vehicle collisions led to 8,185 individuals being seriously injured in 2021. Tragically, 1,768 of these collisions resulted in casualties.
Annually, an average of 2,229 casualties are caused by vehicle collisions. That’s 6 lives lost daily on the road.
Speeding is responsible for 24.7% of collisions, while distracted driving accounts for 19.7% of these incidents.
Young drivers were involved in 22.9% of reported vehicle collisions.
In 2020, fatalities caused by vehicle collisions cost $8.1 million, while injuries led to the financial burden of $1.06 million.
