Collisions injured 5 people every minute
and killed one person every 12 minutes
A total of 6.1 million reported car crashes occurred on U.S. roads
Speeding-related crashes caused 12,330 fatalities, making up 29% of total traffic casualties. This is an 8% increase from 2020 and the highest it’s been since 2007.
In 2019, the estimated economic cost of all traffic collisions amounted to $340 billion.
